Synopsis
Naruto seems to be shocked of what happened to Boruto, runs towards the seemingly not responding body of his son. Meanwhile Code, is also taken by surprise, as he didn't expect Kawaki to regain his karma, much less for him that he's willing to kill Boruto, a possible sacrifice for the Divine Tree. Code decides to retreat and releases Shikamaru, but just as he is about to teleport through his Claw mark, suddenly his claw marks are shrunk by Kawaki's Sukunahikona, therefore making them useless. Kawaki then tells Code that he will eliminate anyone who brings threat the Seventh Hokage's life, and adds that if he is able to kill even Boruto, whom he considers a brother, there is not even a slight chance of him letting Code getting away.
Shikamaru approaches the devastated Naruto, who is trying to wake Boruto. He tells Naruto to pull himself together and that even though he know Naruto is in pain, the battle is far from being over. The Hokage however, still being in shock, asks him whether he is in dream? Shikamaru suddenly gets distracted by code and kawaki's fight on the other side. He tells Naruto that Kawaki have the upper hand on Code and that it will be troublesome if he escapes.
Kawaki prevails and tells Code that even though he didn't knew the motives of the person who wants to meet him, he will get the same treatment if he is to harm Naruto. Kawaki then proceeds to finish his opponent but suddenly is blown away and passes out. It is revealed that Code used his claw marks to teleport Daemon on the battlefield in order to use his reflecting ability. He sends him back to Ada's location, as he no longer needs his presence. Just before he retreats as well, Code admits that Kawaki was stronger and if the battle was to continue he would lose.
Shikamaru tells Naruto that they must consider what to do with Kawaki, as judging by how he killed a comrade without a single thought, he will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal. Naruto asks if he is suggesting to banish Kawaki from Konohagakure, but Shikamaru answers that there are other villages in consideration and that he doesn't plan to abandon his responsibilities. He adds that this is exactly why they have to think what to do and that Kawaki killing Boruto will have a strong impact on the rest, back in the village. Naruto answers that he is practically a part of his family and that if they aren't there to take his side, none of them will. while they are arguing, suddenly Boruto awakes, asking for who was killed. Naruto, shocked to see his son alive hugs him. Shikamaru on the other hand notices that not only he is somehow alive but the hole he had in his chest is completely healed. As Boruto is trying to figure out what happened, Momoshiki's spirit appears in front of him. He tells Boruto that in addition to being his vessel, he is also serving as an anchor to the world of living, and that if he dies; Momoshiki won't be able to reincarnate. It is revealed that he healed Boruto's wounds back when Kawaki was fighting Code. He adds that even though around eighty two percent of the Karma has already been extracted, he had to use the remaining eighteen, so that the tissue Boruto lost can be fabricated anew and therefore it is now impossible for him to be resurrected. Boruto tells him that he is glad his resolve to die managed to prevent his plan and that in his eyes it is a win. Momoshiki, annoyed by his cocky personality, tells him that he shouldn't get so excited and that, rewritten or not, the data in the Karma started originally as Otsutsuki, meaning he is now a purely completed one and it is a matter of time before Code realized it too.
Boruto mentions to momoshiki that he was once who told of that his blue eyes would eventually take everything from him and asked if him dying was what he meant by that. Momoshiki laughs at Boruto and says that it had nothing on it. He adds that even he can't predict what will happen but warns him that it is near and it will be a true spectacle. When Code successfully escape to his location, Ada asks him how will be that he would reach Amado, that he was protected in the middle of Konoha. Code asked that he had already have taken some measurement. He mean it to that like he had implanted his claw mark in Shikamaru.
